“I grew up in one of the most beautiful places in Britain: Cornwall. My childhood was punctuated with family difficulties and I spent painful periods in foster care separated from them. My refuge was taking river trips, sea swimming and walking in Cornwall’s rare temperate rainforests. I thought everywhere in the world must have such abundant natural places. Sadly, I realised I was wrong. Most of them had been deeply damaged or destroyed. I worked in the film industry for a few years trying desperately to become “successful”, whatever that means! Eventually, my desire to protect the beauty of where I grew up and help restore nature elsewhere caught up with me. In 2018 I quit my job and devoted myself full time to activism instead.”

"Hello! I am an Ecologist turned activist - nature continues to both fascinate and inspire me every single day. I worked on freshwater research and conservation projects for over 15 years, mostly in Arabia. Extinction Rebellion snapped my focus back to saving, not just seeing, the world's wild places so in 2019 I quit my job and devoted myself to full-time climate activism in the UK.I believe strongly in civil resistance to enact the change our gasping planet needs along with realistic, science-based solutions. I live in an English seaside town, Weymouth, with my husband and a growing family of houseplants and spiders. I love fish, badgers and guitar bands. I am auntie to two brilliant young nieces who bring both fun and focus to my life."
